Sugar Cane Lone Wolf Carpenter Boots, Brown Leather
SOLD OUT!!!
Lone Wolf boots are directly patterned after long-lost classic styles from the “Good Old Days” in American work wear; that is an era, generally speaking, that hit its zenith in the 1950s and saw its demise by the early 1970s. The Lone Wolf mark is your guarantee you are buying real work boots meant to withstand the rigors of the most-demanding tasks, but they also just so happen to look as beautifully as they function because they are hand crafted from superior-quality leathers and other components with the utmost of pride by a tiny, family-run shoe business. This shoe company is a true anachronism, taking you back to a time when shoes were made by a cobbler with hammer in hand, a shoe last deftly cradled between his legs and a brace of steel nails poking out from between his lips. And when we say it’s a family-run business, we mean the shoes are actually hand made by several generations of one family that includes men and women and their offspring who have chosen to be old-world shoe artisans, producing superior-quality rugged footwear one pair at a time. Demand is so great for the Lone Wolf boots in Japan v s. the available supply, orders are typically completed 6-10 months from the time they were booked by the stores that sell the boots, and some styles have been known to be sold out for a year or more – NEVER hesitate or delay in making a purchase of Lone Wolf boots!
Lone Wolf Carpenter Boots are based on a vintage style dating back to the 1930s that was once produced by legendary footwear manufacturers in the USA that have long since vanished. The uppers are manufactured from a beefy, full-grain imported steer hide leather that is vegetable tanned for no less than 12 weeks, then beautifully aniline-dyed in classic dark brown, after which the leather is sewn and hand lasted over a period of days to ensure maximum stretch and flexibility to the finished shoe, and finally the lasted uppers are sewn by hand using the famous Goodyear storm welt - NEVER are soles vulcanized to the uppers or sewn in some cheap manner to duplicate the appearance of a true Goodyear welt at a sacrifice to comfort, quality and durability. The Carpenter also features a high-quality leather outer sole that, in turn, is stitched and nailed to New-Old-Stock GENUINE vintage “Cat’s Paw” rubber soles, with GENUINE Vintage “Cat’s Paw” heels glued and nailed in place. Cat’s Paw soles were regarded as the best rubber soles back in the day and Lone Wolf is the only brand today still utilizing a vintage surplus of these soles for footwear production.
Vintage details of style and superior quality include the following:
• Lone Wolf label produced on a vintage shuttle loom
• Lace-to-toe hooks and eyelets
• Removable kiltie
• Triple-stitched vamp for durability
• Two colors of contrasting thread employed for assembly of uppers
• Aniline-dyed cowhide uppers that will wear and age fabulously, yielding an incredible vintage patina
• Custom-made shoe laces to precisely match the heavy, corded type originally employed on this style of shoe
• Nickel-plated metal lace-up eyelets and speed hooks
• Firm, protective toe box
• Gusseted-leather tongue
• Full-leather counter pockets
• Hand-lasted uppers
• Hand-sewn genuine Goodyear welt with heavy-duty corded thread
• Heavy, non-corrosive steel shank for extra heavy-duty support
• Genuine New-Old-Stock vintage Cat’s Paw rubber soles and heels attached to high-quality leather outer soles
•Vegetable-tanned, aniline-dyed, full-grain steer hide uppers

Lone Wolf Engineer Boots are based on a vintage style dating back to the 1930s that was once produced by legendary footwear manufacturers in the USA that have long since vanished. Engineer boots were made famous by motorcyclists in the 1950s, the likes of which were stereotyped by actor Marlon Brando in the 1950s cult-classic film "The Wild One," where Brando plays an outlaw biker plundering and holding hostage a rural small town with his gang of two-wheeled bad boys. The uppers of the Engineer boot are crafted from Chicago's famous Horween Tannery's Chromexcel Cowhide, after which the leather is sewn and hand lasted over a period of days to ensure maximum stretch and flexibility to the finished shoe, and finally the lasted uppers are sewn by hand using the famous Goodyear storm welt - NEVER are soles vulcanized to the uppers or sewn in some cheap manner to duplicate the appearance of a true Goodyear welt at a sacrifice to comfort, quality and durability.
The Engineer also features a high-quality leather outer sole that, in turn, is stitched and nailed to New-Old-Stock GENUINE vintage “Cat’s Paw” rubber sole taps, with GENUINE Vintage “Cat’s Paw” heels glued and nailed in place. Cat’s Paw soles were regarded as the best rubber soles back in the day and Lone Wolf is among a tiny few brands today still utilizing a vintage surplus of these soles for footwear production. Lastly, as found on the best vintage classics, Lone Wolf Engineer boots feature heels made of stacked leather in a beveled cut. • Lone Wolf label produced on a vintage shuttle loom
• Brass buckles on upper-calf and arch straps • Adjustable arch strap and upper-calf gusseted arch strap for a customizable snug fit
• Polished outer sole and stacked-leather heel
• Double-stitched quarters, counters and vamp
• Heavy black thread employed for assembly of uppers
• Aniline-dyed Chromexcel Cowhide uppers that will wear and age fabulously, yielding an incredible vintage patina
• Bevel-cut, stacked-leather heel with rubber tap; a feature found on all proper Engineer boots
• Firm, protective toe box
• Full-leather counter pockets
• Hand-lasted uppers
• Hand-sewn genuine Goodyear welt with heavy-duty corded thread
• Heavy, non-corrosive steel shank for extra heavy-duty support
• Genuine New-Old-Stock vintage Cat’s Paw rubber sole taps and heels attached to high-quality leather outer soles and stacked-leather heels

Sugar Cane Okinawa Satokibi Pre-Shrunk, One-Wash Selvage-Denim Jeans
Sugar Cane Okinawa selvage-denim jeans comprise a blend of traditional techniques and styling with innovation and creativity in textile development. It starts with a basic vintage selvage jean style, in this case the famous Levi XX 501 button-fly, five-pocket selvage-denim jeans of 1947. These are the original vintage style, which is with a higher waist, looser seat and a straight, wider, non-tapering leg design commonly called the “stovepipe.” This traditional vintage design style is then married with the result of 25 years of research and experimentation into making the hardest-wearing, most exotic and innovative vintage-style selvage dungarees ever attempted, incorporating knocked–out distinctiveness in detailing and style.
The textile specialists at Sugar Cane were the first in the world to produce a selvage-denim fabric made from woven cotton yarns and sugar cane fibers. Cotton and sugar cane is harvested from Okinawa, hence the style name. The dyed yarns are then turned into the prized, coarse-weave Japanese selvage denim on slow-moving, vintage shuttle looms from the “good old days” of manufacturing in the USA.
This obsessive attention to detail, historical purity, unsurpassed quality and cutting-edge innovation gives birth to a Okinawa selvage-denim jeans weighing in at a super-coarse-and-beefy 14.25 ounces that dazzles the senses with deep, dark coloring and an intoxicating, delicately sweet scent, thanks to a strong helping of sugar cane in the fabric. Over time from wear, laundering, and use, this luscious denim yields fade marks, whiskering and striations that could never be achieved with thinner, less coarse denim, be it selvage or otherwise.
Other features of this Premium Selvage Denim include: Pockets lined with cotton fabric in a traditional Japanese print; genuine habu snakeskin leather patch from the island of Okinawa, with printed Kenji characters indicating Sugar Cane and the region the cotton and sugar cane were harvested from; detail stitching on rear pockets is sewn by hand using heavy cotton thread made from sugar cane in the stitch style of a very traditional, centuries-old Japanese design, and this style has its own unique green-line selvage edge on the denim that distinguishes it from one any of the other Sugar Cane styles. This is among some of the finest denim in the world, where the exotic meets luxury and durability. This is Sugar Cane. Or, as the Japanese call it – Satokibi!
Sugar Cane one-wash jeans are rinsed once in cold water to produce a product that is fully shrunken and ready to wear; you don't need to worry about additional shrinkage of any consequence.
We will also be glad to measure the waist of jeans we have in stock to be sure what we send you has the measurement you require, so please ask before ordering.
Fit/sizing: Waist sizes available 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36 & 38. Sizes up to and including 29 will have an approximate 32” inseam, and waist sizes 30-38 will have an approximate 34" inseam. All sizes marked on label reflect approximate after-wash, post-shrinkage measurements; this means that a pair of one-wash jeans size 34 x 34 will have an approximate 34"-35"” waist measure and a approximate 33" inseam measure. Measures are always listed in approximate terms due to the erratic nature of selvage denim. Waist measures are the most erratic and can be 2" larger than the size on the label, so if you require a specific measurement for the waist and/or inseam, please contact us and we will let you know what we have available. Waist measures will also stretch out permanently by about 1"-1.5" after being worn approximately 20-25 times.
Please see our SIZING TIPS for advice on how to get the correct fit.

Sugar Cane Reinforced-Sleeve, Jean-Cord Shirt, Black
Sugar Cane vintage work shirts are for those who can appreciate the myriad of nuances and character found in the finest single-malt scotch, the clearest, most colorless diamond or hand-crafted, centuries-old oriental rug. Nothing like this has been offered since the "good old days" of the 1950's, when clothing had to last by necessity. One look and you will be immediately transported back to an era when the railroads were the backbone of transportation and America was the unquestioned king of goods synonymous with top quality and durability.
The fabric is at the heart of this style. Jean cord is really densely woven, with a rugged, distinctly firm hand approaching lightweight canvas, but it also gains softness from each use and washing. Depending on your level of use and how you launder, this fabric can last decades. Every original and distinctive styling feature from the yesteryear has been reproduced, including reinforced shoulder yoke, two flap pockets, reinforced pencil slot, reinforced elbows, genuine-urea buttons, triple-stitched seams for superior strength, authentic labeling, all in addition to the heavy-duty fabric.
This is rugged and stylish American history at its best, and it is also going to look fabulous when worn because it is cut to flatter the body, unlike the ultra-loose styles so often encountered everywhere today. Tired of only having choices from what the big outfits and department stores have to offer? Ready for something that will make you the envy of anyone with a keen eye for a look of quality and distinction? Whether seeking a casual shirt for leisure, a sport shirt to be worn with necktie on casual office days, or truly in need of a work shirt that will outlast ANYTHING you are familiar with; let this vintage design be your silver bullet. Quantities are limited.
Take note of these authentic features and details found only on a work shirt of this pedigree:
• Placket-front closure
• Collar stand for crisper appearance
• Two flap pockets, with the left pocket having a reinforced pencil slot
• Triple-stitched seams for superior strength
• Reinforced shoulder yoke and reinforced elbows for greater durability at these crucial abrasion areas
• Custom manufacturing of correct black, genuine-urea buttons, not cheap plastic
• Custom manufacturing of the correct all-cotton, heavy-weight, jean-cord fabric on the original narrow shuttle looms employed back in the 1930's
• All-cotton off-white thread employed in outer construction, with red all-cotton thread employed in sewing interior seams
• Exact copy of the original-style rayon-on-cotton labels
• True vintage fit for flattering appearance, not sloppy, relaxed fit with droopy shoulder seams
• One-wash finish for greater softness out of the box
Sizes available: Sm. - XL. Please note that this style runs small; please see our SIZING TIPS for advice on how to get the correct fit.

Sugar Cane Type II 1947 Selvage-Denim Jeans, Pre-Shrunk, One-Wash
Manufactured from the finest, naturally grown cotton (no chemicals in the growing yields a higher water absorption rate when the indigo dye meets the threads, thus more beautiful fading over time from wear) in a lighter 12-ounce weight vs. 14.25 ounces on the 1947 style, this Sugar Cane jean style debuted in 2009 and is often referred to as the Sugar Cane 2009 Jean, though it is officially known as the Sugar Cane Type II 1947 Jean.
These jeans are patterned from the original Levi Strauss classic 1947 XX 501 but they have been given a bit of contemporary revision in cut: the front and back rises are slightly lowered, the legs tapered and narrowed, and the seat taken in, creating more of a fitted or tailored appearance, though they are not in any way a skinny or low-rise jean style. The lighter denim weight makes this a great jean for most climates, and they can be comfortably worn even in the warm-weather months. The combination of the new, lighter denim and the more contemporary fit have made these one of Sugar Cane’s most popular jean styles since its introduction.
Other than the leaner cut and lighter-weight denim, the basic styling details and hardware on these jeans remain the same as found on the famous Sugar Cane 1947 Jeans. Take note of these authentic features and details found only on a premium selvage jean of this pedigree:
- Button-fly, five-pocket construction
- Famous, hidden reinforcing rear pocket rivets to prevent scratching of saddles and furniture, which were deleted on 501 production in the 1950's
- Original-style paper flasher and labels employed on the outer packaging of the original dungarees
- Genuine, deerskin leather patch with Sugar Cane logo in a style and color reminiscent of that found on the original 501 XX's
- Custom manufactured from the finest, naturally grown, uneven-cotton yarns woven into 12-ounce selvage denim produced on the original shuttle looms employed back in the 1930's, including a color matching to the shade of blue employed in the manufacture of the original 501 XX dungarees and pink selvage edge
- Rope dyed with indigo
- Custom manufacturing of copper rivets and buttons to precisely match design style, size and dimension of the vintage pieces
- Custom manufacturing of the heavy, all-cotton twill to fabricate pockets, not the thin weaves found on many mainstream jeans made today
- Exact duplication of original stitch style throughout construction
- Exact color and grade matching of the all-cotton thread employed in original manufacture
- Exact duplication of 501 XX rear pocket shape and attachment stitching
- Riveted watch pocket

All sizes marked on label reflect approximate after-wash, post-shrinkage measurements; this means that a pair of one-wash jeans size 34 x 34 will have an approximate 36" waist measure and a approximate 33" inseam measure.
