Eastman USAAF B-2 Flying Cap .50 CAL
.50 CAL is a small range of specialized garments that are offered only in the Time-Worn finish. They are unique in spec. to any of the other similar models we offer, so they are not simply Time-Worn versions of our regular range. The colors, materials and finishes are purposely selected to create a subdued and rugged-looking vintage garment that will appeal to those who appreciate the nostalgic charm of a true vintage garment: The Time-Worn process is entirely hand done, which takes hours to achieve; the result is a garment that is still brand new, but you get something that has a vintage, lived-in, patina that you can continue to add to from the first time you put it on. The .50 CAL B-2 is made from authentic vegetable-tanned, North American sheepskin with a broken-grain character and hand-dyed finish.
This model of B-2 represents a spec. that saw the transition from the earlier 'Redskin' to the later dark Seal Brown versions. And the color of the fleece is typical of a transitional model - it has a distinct brownish tinge, compared to the much brighter, off-white shade of later models.
Remember - there's no waiting for this one to wear-in before you get it looking like a vintage original - .50 CAL B-2 is ready for action!

SIZING TIPS
About this Style:
These caps are available in sizes 7, 7 1/8, 7 ¼, 7 3/8, & 7 ½. The fit definitely runs small, particularly if you plan to wear the cap with the earflaps pulled down over your ears. Size 7 should only be worn by those whose head measure indicates they are a size 6 3/8 or smaller. Conversely, the size 7 ½ cap is generous enough in its design so as to allow a comfortable wearing with the earflaps down by those whose head does truly measure as a 7 ½.
Tip 1: Measure your head circumference following the instructions found under the tab BODY MEASURING on this web site.
Tip 2: Covert your head measure to a cap size as found on the above-referenced tab link on this web site.
Tip 3: If you plan to wear this cap with the earflaps pulled down over your ears, order a cap size one size larger than your measured head size would indicate based on the measuring exercise outlined on this web site. For example: If your head measures 22 ¾”, which converts to size 7 ¼, order size 7 3/8 if you plan to wear the cap with the ear flaps down. If you will NEVER wear the cap with the earflaps down, you may be comfortable in wearing a cap size that corresponds to your true measured size, but it is still suggested to go up one size in most instances, except those needing size 7 ½, which is actually generous in fit and will comfortably accommodate measured head size corresponding to size 7 1/2 - 7 5/8. If you measure in between sizes, we suggest always rounding your head measure up to the larger size.
If you are unsure of the size to order we will assist you; please contact us with your head measure as derived from the instructions and diagram found under the tab for BODY MEASURING on this web site.
