USAAF B-2 Flying Cap, Rough Wear Clo. Co.
This B-2 cap is the pre-1942 version, thus crafted from that same gorgeous hand-dyed, vegetable-tanned, russet brown sheepskin with deep-hued wool found on our Rough Wear 17756 B-3 and B-6 jackets. Produced with the correct quarter-inch depth sheep wool and sewn with 100%-cotton olive drab thread, the Rough Wear B-2 perfectly mirrors those extremely rare pre-1942 originals. Ruggedly constructed, including strong zig-zag cover stitch, horsehide trim and five-panel assembly, this enduring style is the ideal companion to any of our flying jackets, especially a Rough Wear B-3 Jacket. Right down to the Rough Wear label, there's no distinguishing our cap from an original!
Sizes available: 7, 7 1/8, 7 1/4, 7 3/8 and 7 1/2. Please see our SIZING TIPS for advice on how to get the correct fit.

SIZING TIPS
About this Style: These caps are available in sizes 7, 7 1/8, 7 ¼, 7 3/8, & 7 ½. The fit definitely runs small, particularly if you plan to wear the cap with the earflaps pulled down over your ears. Size 7 should only be worn by those whose head measure indicates they are a size 6 3/8 or smaller. Conversely, the size 7 ½ cap is generous enough in its design so as to allow a comfortable wearing with the earflaps down by those whose head does truly measure as a 7 1/2 - 7 5/8.
Tip 1: Measure your head circumference following the instructions found under the tab BODY MEASURING on this web site.
Tip 2: Covert your head measure to a cap size as found on the above-referenced tab link on this web site.
Tip 3: If you plan to wear this cap with the earflaps pulled down over your ears, order a cap size one size larger than your measured head size would indicate based on the measuring exercise outlined on this web site. For example: If your head measures 22 ¾”, which converts to size 7 ¼, order size 7 3/8 if you plan to wear the cap with the ear flaps down. If you will NEVER wear the cap with the earflaps down, you may be comfortable in wearing a cap size that corresponds to your true measured size, but it is still suggested to go up one size in most instances, except those needing size 7 ½, which is actually generous in fit and will comfortably accommodate measured head size corresponding to size 7 ½. If you measure in between sizes, we suggest always rounding your head measure up to the larger size.
If you are unsure of the size to order we will assist you; please contact us with your head measure as derived from the instructions and diagram found under the tab for BODY MEASURING on this web site.
