The chronograph watch is an essential component for anyone performing tasks requiring the utmost in precise, time-related calculations. Pilots, naval shipboard and artillery officers, as well as doctors and related medical personnel, all rely on this timepiece for a host of diverse, time keeping requirements. Hanhart was one of the leading German producers of chronographs in the '30's and '40's, and though they produced now-famous and highly-sought examples for issue to the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine, other styles of chronographs were produced for commercial consumption, these usually being more stylized and elegant. It was not at all uncommon for German military personnel of affluent background, most notably officers, to purchase their own watches for wear while in performance of their duties. One of the finer chronograph watches available for private purchase in Germany at that time was a Hanhart example based on their military issue designs, but more elegantly crafted in a brightly polished stainless steel casing, and featuring a white dial with more stylized hands and numerals. Originally available in only the mechanical movement version, by the end of its production run, a 28-jewel automatic movement was available. Production ceased at war's end but resumed again on this watch in the early postwar era of the late '40's and early '50's, where it was given the name the Admiral, predicated on its wide preference by doctors and other officers of the German Navy. Hanhart has started production again of their old, elegant and very popular Admiral Chronograph. Available with the same features and movements as the vintage originals, this style offers tremendous value and handsome looks in either mechanical or automatic versions, while upholding the rugged durability and high precision expected in a chronograph intended for tasks where lives are reliant on its abilities at every instant. The sapphire crystal see-thru case back (standard on automatic) and choice of watch straps, provide a blend of diversity in the desired appearance and application of such an understated gem as the Admiral Chronograph. Whether your needs are for work, sport, leisure or fine dress, this classic chronograph style can be the only watch you'll need, such is the perfect balance in styling found in the Admiral. Rely on a Hanhart Admiral Chronograph for every occasion ... and the rest of your life!

Admiral chrongraph is available with brown or black leather watch bands, or brightly polished stainless steel.
The sapphire crystal see-thru case back (center) is standard on the 28-jewel automatic movement,
and an option on the 17-jewel mechanical movement (left).

Each watch comes in its own linen-lined, hand-crafted leather storage box, complete with matching certificate of origin.
The long box, seen here, is standard with Admiral, Minos & Sirius styles unless the stainless steel band is originally
ordered on the watch, in which case the round box is standard. (Watch shown is Luftwaffe Fliegerchronograph.) Despite significant technical difficulties, the bezel is kept extremely thin to provide optimal view.
Likewise, the recessed minute & second register bevels are extremely deep.
(Watch shown is Luftwaffe Fliegerchronograph.) The essence of a fine watch - the movement! Note the beauty of the scripted and
individually numbered mechanical movement, and the heavy leather strap with
security rivets; the HANHART name is embossed on underside of strap.
The Admiral 17-jewel mechanical movement is identical to this. (Watch shown is Luftwaffe Fliegerchronograph)
