New Buzz Rickson’s Products & Sizes Fall 2008
Fall 2008: We are pleased to announce that size 46 will be back in stock again in Buzz Rickson’s USN 1944 N-1 Khaki Deck Jacket. This style has continued to be a standout performer in all sizes and the size 46's have consistently sold out each year by Christmas. Advance orders are being accepted now on this size and any others not presently in stock.

Fall 2008: Buzz Rickson's will offer for the first time ever, the all-time classic U. S. NAVY Pea Coat of the 1940's! This is the real deal, folks, the coat type issued and worn by all WWII U. S. sailors and NOT the flimsy, light-weight garbage that has been the staple of the U. S. NAVY since the late 1950's or the fashion designs found everywhere today that masquerade as Pea Coats but lack the original warmth of the coat that won WWII. Those familiar with the coats made back in "the good old days" know how heavy and tightly woven the melton wool shell is on the original coats and how the wool doesn't get fuzzy nor did it wear down easily, as do all the cheapo coats made on modern looms and sold at dumbed-down prices to dumbed-down consumers. Well, you can expect the Buzz Rickson's Pea Coat to mirror the 1940's coats because of the brand's revered dedication to crafting only quality and, when possible, utilizing old sewing machines and looms from the first half of the 20th century. The old machinery makes a huge difference in the final product and a huge difference in the cost of the goods, hence the reason you won't find Buzz Rickson's in shopping malls or Walmart or even the big-name catalog outfitters . The Buzz Rickson's coat will function in biting-cold temperatures as did the coats of WWII, and it will have all of the correct styling details of the old coats, including the correct rayon lining, bakelite-style anchor buttons and USN property labels, plus it will look superb because it's styled from the sleek form found on the old coats which fit so much more flatteringly than the make-believe Pea Coats omnipresent today. Sizes available will accommodate chest measures up to 45". Roll up the boarding ramps and anchors aweigh - advance reservation orders are being accepted now with the photo debut on this web site in late summer. Fall 2008: NEW William Gibson Collection apparel! Following the overwhelming success of Buzz Rickson’s “Pattern Recognition” Black MA-1 Jacket (back again for a 5th season!), we are pleased and proud to announce the third season of the all-new “William Gibson Collection.” This collection features several Buzz Rickson’s products made to their usual highest standards of quality and authenticity, but now with the “William Gibson Collection” co-branded label and produced in classic, stylish jet black. The "William Gibson Collection" is for those who prefer all the styling and detailing of a superior-grade military jacket design in a non-military color, and lacking the military insignia markings. Every article of clothing produced with the “William Gibson” label is personally specified, approved, licensed and endorsed by Mr. Gibson as being the real deal he knows Buzz Rickson’s is famous for, which he so glowingly wrote of in “Pattern Recognition,” and now crafted in a color both he and Cayce Pollard are proud of. The marriage of the Buzz Rickson’s and William Gibson labeling is your personal guarantee of complete product satisfaction in quality, durability and authenticity. New styles this year will include the black N-3 hooded parka (not N-3B), classic M-65 Field Jacket in black with exotic lining art, and a resurrection of the previously offered black N-1 Deck Jacket from 2006. Advance orders are being accepted now for delivery later this fall. Please watch this web site in the late summer 2008 for the photo debut of new styles in this collection.

Fall 2008: NEW size XL (42-44) & XXL (44-46) Buzz Rickson's Premium 1930's & 1940's all-cotton athletic sweatshirts!!! Our customers asked for these and we've cut the deal for the first-ever offering of these two sizes! Made from 13-ounce, 100% cotton fabricated on 1920's vintage looms, styled with all the correct features found on the old sweatshirts and cut to hug the body in a flattering form without bulk, just as the vintage originals did. This is the real deal: a set-in sleeve, four-needle-construction sweatshirt with V-placket neck feature and four-inch cuff and waist band meant for those who crave a slice of the good old days to perfectly compliment a pair of premium Sugar Cane or Buzz Rickson's selvage denim dungarees. When was the last time you could purchase an all-cotton sweatshirt, let alone one crafted with fabric made on a 1920's vintage loom? Isn't it time to discard those sweatshirts that are cut like a lifeless, droop-shoulder sack, the type typically worn by soccer moms and teens that are so full of blouse that one needs to go up a size in a jacket so as to dress in layers? A Buzz Rickson's sweatshirt is for real men, not hip-hop kids, the dainty set or those with a build they want to hide. Take a bite of old-time machismo again this season! Limited quantities available in sizes medium and large. Choose from medium blue (Virgil Hilts) , navy blue, oatmeal, off-white or gray. Sizes XL & XXL will only be available in heather grey. Advance reserve orders being accepted now for any items we are sold out of, as well as sizes XL & XXL

Fall 2008: NEW - Size 46 Buzz Rickson's Special Edition USAAF B-15 Intermediate Flying Jacket will premier this fall. Our customers asked for these and we've cut the deal for the first-ever offering of this size! This will be a copy of a B-15 Flying Jacket once produced by Rough Wear Clothing Co. in 1944. All the special features that make this a perfect Rough Wear B-15 copy will be included, such as label, tags, inspector markings, fur coloring, outer shell and knit coloring, and New-Old-Stock CONMAR zipper made of blackened brass, etc. Advance orders are being accepted now for this size 46. Fall 2008: NEW - size 46 Buzz Rickson's USAAF B-10 Intermediate Flying Jacket, Roughwear Clothing Co. Special Edition. Buzz Rickson's B-10 will be back again this year due to popular demand, and this time in size 46! Our customers asked for these and we've cut the deal for the first-ever offering of this size! This B-10, along with their B-15, are must-haves for those who love the USAAF cloth-shelled, alpaca-lined flying jackets, and the product detailing and quality is, as always, not to be beaten by any other manufacturer. Advance orders are being accepted now for this size 46.

Fall 2008: NEW - size 44 (fits chest measure 46") Buzz Rickson's magnificent copy of the fabulous USAAF Type B-9 Hooded Winter Flying Jacket (Parka) will be arriving in the late fall 2008. Our customers asked for these and we've cut the deal for the first-ever offering of this size! This is a super-looking, magnificent work of jacket craftsmanship and styling, being a copy of the B-9 as manufactured by Eddie Bauer in 1943. The B-9 is made of an all-cotton shell of olive drab twill with reinforced elbows and shoulder yoke, wool-knit cuffs to keep the gusting winds from shooting up the sleeves, a plush, mouton fur-lined hood and supremely insulating, diamond-pattern, goose down-quilted lining, and outfitted with a 1942, New-Old-Stock CONMAR zipper. This copy is so perfect, even the correct rayon drawstrings for the hood and the correct-and-beautiful, heavy-weight, golden-hued rayon lining have been reproduced. This parka is positively stunning, durable and steeped in quality and classic detailing that you simply cannot find anymore in today's fashion world choked with trendy, cheaply produced obscenities from third-world factories. Buzz Rickson's B-9 is one jacket you will not want to be without in your winter wardrobe; advance orders are being taken now for sizes fitting up to 46" chests.

EASTMAN Leather Clothing Products vs. the Ever-Weakening U. S. Dollar
Valued customers please note: The U. S. dollar continues to weaken against all major currencies, especially the British pound, which is the currency we must purchase and convert our U. S. dollars into to pay for EASTMAN products. We continue to endeavor to offer the unparalleled EASTMAN brand to you at the lowest prices possible, but the ongoing weakness of the U. S. dollar is, ultimately, manifested in higher prices for us when paying for EASTMAN goods in British pounds. Leading economists seem nearly unanimous in their bleak outlook for any sort of rebound of the U. S. dollar anytime soon, thus we have no optimism that the price we pay will decrease anytime soon. We sincerely thank all the countless past and future loyal EASTMAN customers who have not shied away from superior products in light of the weak U. S. dollar and who continue to view hand-crafted goods of EASTMAN quality not as costly, but priceless. EASTMAN quality represents the Rolls Royce of vintage leather and, as with Rolls Royce, EASTMAN goods are handmade in England by dedicated old-world artisans, one at a time. Buy an EASTMAN, then wear it the rest of your life …

New Whitesville Motor Club Jacket Fall 2008
Whitesville is yet another wonderful brand brought to us from the fine folks of Sugar Cane, Buzz Rickson's & Sun Surf. The Whitesville brand is a collection of sporting apparel from "the good old days" and largely features the classic waist-length "varsity" or "club" jackets made with wool bodies and leather sleeves and displaying the various badges, patches, mottos, names and other hand-crafted adornments typical of these old designs. This is the first year Whitesville will be available from us in the USA and we've selected the single most-fabulous jacket in the collection to mark the brand's debut. This jacket style is typical of motor-club jackets in the late 1940's and early 1950's, being fabricated with a black wool body and black leather sleeves, button-front closure, quilted lining for warmth and fully decorated with totally awesome hand-loomed artwork that includes a skull and bones situated in spider's web. Since the designs are never repeated again, each year's offerings are limited editions, made even more limited due to the scarcity of these high-quality goods offered in the USA. Sizes available will fit up to 42" chest measures. Photos should be available for viewing on this site by late summer and advance order reservations are being accepted now.
